Trigger is approx. 28 years old and very lucky he survived after he was given to a smooth talking person who claimed she had a rescue and a veteran waiting for a nice horse to adopt. As you can see in the above picture, there was no "rescue" at the place he ended up and no nice adoptive home waiting for him. Trigger was rescued along with his 3 friends from that horrible place and is now in safe along with his friends in the care of BHHR.
Trigger was examined by a veterinarian in Washington at BHHR's expense and the vet report was provided to Law Enforcement for their use. The report included several indications the horse was neglected including but not limited to: "close to 100 pounds underweight" " feet are badly overgrown and need care" "fly eggs all over" . Additional veterinarian examination in Oregon showed he had very bad teeth and a chronic respiratory condition that (confirmed by a witness in WA) had gone untreated for years.
When Trigger came into our care his feet hurt so bad he did not want to stand on them so he kept slowly walking. His head hung in mid air and he didn't want to lift it. He was scared and his body weary. Now he looks years younger, is friendly & comfortable, and definitely enjoying "the good life" at BHHR.
